Nature Is Nonpartisan Hosts Unprecedented Convening of Environmental Leaders
Conservation CEOs, government officials, and environmental leaders came together to chart a path toward lasting, cross-partisan impact for America’s natural resources
PARADISE VALLEY, A.Z. – This week, Nature Is Nonpartisan hosted an unprecedented convening of environmental and conservation CEOs, government leaders, and decision makers at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
“This week proves that nature really is nonpartisan,” said Benji Backer, Founder and CEO of Nature Is Nonpartisan. “This is a long-overdue, historic gathering that has not happened during the modern political era. By bringing these leaders with their collaborative experience, intellect, and power together, we were able to remind ourselves of the many things we all have in common. Now it’s time for us to work together to further our shared values, designing a real, lasting, effective impact that conserves America’s natural beauty and resources for future generations.”
The attendees of the Nature Is Nonpartisan Executive Retreat discussed our opportunities to redesign and revitalize the environmental movement by:
- Uniting around our shared love of nature;
- Rallying together to pursue real cultural and political change; and,
- Advancing our mission to conserve our natural world for generations to come.
Notable groups in attendance included the National Wildlife Federation, the Everglades Foundation, American Forests, the Nature Conservancy, the National Park Foundation, Safari Club International, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, American Rivers, and the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Policy experts from the Departments of Interior, Agriculture, and Energy, as well as the White House Domestic Policy Council also joined the discussion. President of Arizona State University and conservation leader Dr. Michael Crow served as the keynote speaker for the event.
Nature Is Nonpartisan will continue working with these groups, uniting us around our shared love of nature and building a roadmap for future policy opportunities to create real impact at all levels of American governance. Join us in this mission and take action now.
